Broad & Spring
These homeowners started off wanting a dormer for an upstairs bath. The roof had undersized framing. They were having ice dams and leaks. The upstairs had very low ceilings... We told them to either take the roof off or do nothing - that the dormer was going to cost an awful lot of money just to get a bathroom. They took our advise and have been very happy. Although many neighbors are a full two story, the homeowners wanted a more modest. This is s style called a "posted cape" - where the eaves are kept lower than the second floor ceiling. It's one way of achieving a cottage look while still making the most of the second floor.
